This beautiful big beach is the most important and crowded of all the beaches in the city and it is undoubtedly the best example of Barcelona Beach Tourism. It is located to the South of the Barcelona Olympic Port.
With a length of 1100 meters and width of 89 meters, fine golden sand, calm water, urbanized, a long promenade which extends to Sant Sebastia Beach, with plenty of bars and restaurants, it is the best choice for you near downtown. Barceloneta Beach is the most well known of all the beaches in the city and it will be probably your Barcelona Beach choice.
Some services like lifeguards, evacuation, rescue, Red Cross, showers, toilets, are only active during Summer period. This beach offers lots of facilities for everyone, for handicapped, beach umbrellas and hammocks rent, showers, bus stop, several restaurants and bars, parking, parking for handicapped, bycicle place, public phones, several sport areas, children´s games. Some activities that You can enjoy and practice are beach sports, jet skiing, windsurfing and sailing.
You can get there with the Metro, yellow line L4. Get out at Barceloneta station and have a short walk.
